The beauty of fishing is that you get to see things that others may miss. This classic early autumnal sunrise was taken at Monnikendam, and started a great day in which I caught nothing and in that most zen frame of mind that all pragmatic fishermen have, was content and fulfilled.

Today I also went fishing, also caught nothing, and am also happy. I have been out for a coffee with Katja, cycled around 40km, and feel that I have not wasted the day. It's a shame I have work tomorrow - but not long now until I can take a holiday!
