Monday is here!
Well 'Dam is two days away and I have so far had a nice flight from Singapore, where I found that the SilverKris lounge for business class has free beer, liquor and hot food. Not to mention coffee and tea. All very relaxing and civilized. The flight was a different experience with huge seats that had more buttons than Ginger Lynn would know what to do with! The food was good, they actually lay out your table with a table cloth and bring out each course (4 course each meal). Plus they had a wine selection - so I amused myself with some cheeky australian Shiraz, followed by a 10 year port. Had an annoying dude across the aisle from me who tapped his feet and fingers to some manic percussion in his head. Furthermore, he talked loadly and verbosely to his companion, necessitating an iPod at 75% violume to drown him out.
Canterbury was super - had lunch with Mother, Grandmother and Grandfather. Simon, Gail and cousin Matthew came for a coffee later and I went for a walk later in teh evenign and had a few pints in Canterbury. My train this morning was at 0614 so I was up at 0500 to get ready. This was supposed to get me into London at 0754 but the signalling equipment of teh South East line was faulty and someone decided to have a heart attack - resulting in ambulances etc. Suffice to say that we all had to change trains and managed to get into London at 0847. Fantastic - not!
Work today has been good - not too busy but had things to do. I need to book my flights for 'Dam, and my hotel, and I am still chasing payment of my spetember invoice. They better sort it out soon as it is expensive here - I have spent £190 already (at £1 = S$3.09 thats a load of wonga). I have dinner next week with Mother, and am supposed to catch up with various buddies. Tonight is all mine though - I may go out in the west end and watch the beautiful people living their beautiful lives.
I had better get on with some work - it is bad form to fly all the way to the UK only to blog at work :-)
Cheerio - next exciting installment will be from Amsterdam.

If you're going to fly halfway across the world, of course you've gotta blog at work to let the folks at home know how you're doing!
(Which begs all sorts of questions about which way is 'home', now, but time enough for that later.)

Ok good point. So far nothing ground shakingly exciting to report (see above for proof of that). But tonight I am let loose on the big city. I am sure that I can find places to go that will warrant a post.....maybe I should dress up as superman and climb Buckingham Palace
